Terms of Service
Last updated: May 9, 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service govern your use of PokéRip (the "Service"), accessible at poke.rip. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the Service.
PokéRip is a hobby project. These terms are intentionally plain-language and reasonable. Read them once and you'll understand them.
2. What PokéRip is
PokéRip is a free, browser-based Pokémon Trading Card Game pack opening simulator. The "cards" you "pull" are virtual — they exist only as images and metadata loaded into your browser. They have no real-world existence and cannot be sold, traded, redeemed for, or exchanged for anything of monetary value, store credit, in-game currency, or physical product.
PokéRip is provided strictly for entertainment, educational, and nostalgic purposes.
3. Eligibility
PokéRip is open to anyone with a web browser. There are no age restrictions, no account creation, and no personal information collected. The simulator is designed to be appropriate for all ages.
4. Not affiliated with The Pokémon Company
PokéRip is a fan-made tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Pokémon Company, Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures Inc., Wizards of the Coast, or any related entity, subsidiary, or licensee. All Pokémon names, character names, card artwork, set logos, attack names, and related trademarks are the property of their respective owners. PokéRip uses card data and imagery under fan-use conventions with attribution to the open-source TCGdex project.
If you are a rights-holder and believe specific content on the site should be removed, see the contact section below for takedown requests.
5. Acceptable use
By using PokéRip, you agree to:
- Use the site for personal, non-commercial purposes
- Not scrape, mirror, copy, redistribute, or republish the site or its data as your own
- Not abuse the site's infrastructure (no automated bulk traffic, denial-of-service attempts, or attempts to overwhelm the simulator)
- Not present simulated pulls as real or use the simulator to mislead, defraud, or impersonate
- Not attempt to circumvent, modify, or reverse-engineer site mechanisms in a way intended to harm others
- Not use the site as part of any unlawful activity in your jurisdiction
The site's source materials (the JavaScript, CSS, and HTML you can view in your browser) are visible by design. You're welcome to read the code and learn from it. You're not welcome to clone-and-relaunch it as a competing product.
6. Pull rates are simulated
The pack composition (5 commons, 3 uncommons, 1 reverse holo, 1 rare-or-better slot) and the rare-slot odds (~74% rare/holo, ~14% ultra rare, ~6% secret rare, ~2% chase) are approximations calibrated to typical retail Pokémon TCG boosters. They are not official, not guaranteed accurate to any specific set or print run, and are not endorsed by The Pokémon Company or any retailer.
You must not use PokéRip results to predict real-world pull rates, estimate the value of physical product, plan purchasing decisions, or make claims about the actual contents of physical packs you might buy.
7. Intellectual property
The original code, layout, design, and content of PokéRip (excluding card artwork and Pokémon trademarks) are the work of PokéRip's authors and provided for personal use only. You may view, learn from, and use the simulator yourself, but you may not relicense, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the original portions.
Pokémon card artwork, names, set logos, attack names, ability names, and trademarks are the property of The Pokémon Company, Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures Inc., and their licensees. PokéRip displays them under fan-use conventions for the purpose of operating the simulator and commenting on the Pokémon TCG.
Card metadata (set lists, attacks, weaknesses, etc.) was originally sourced from the open-source TCGdex project under its license terms.
Your binder data — the cards you've pulled, your stats, your settings — is yours. It lives only on your device.
8. No warranty
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied. Specifically, we make no representations or guarantees about:
- Uptime, availability, or continued operation of the Service
- Accuracy or completeness of card data, rarities, or pull rates
- That the Service will function on every device, browser, or future browser version
- That defects, bugs, or visual issues will be fixed
- That the Service is free of viruses, malware, or other harmful components
- That stored binder data will be preserved between visits, browser updates, or device changes
If something breaks, we may fix it but we make no service-level commitments.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall PokéRip, its authors, operators, or contributors be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue, data, or use — arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations; in those places, the limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted.
10. Changes to the Service or these Terms
We may modify, add, remove, or discontinue parts of the Service or these Terms at any time without prior notice. The Service is a hobby project — assume nothing is permanent and back up anything you care about (the binder page has a JSON/CSV export).
The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you don't accept the updated Terms, stop using the Service.
11. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable in a particular jurisdiction, the remaining parts continue to apply. The unenforceable part will be replaced with the closest enforceable equivalent that reflects the original intent.
12. Disputes
Before pursuing any formal dispute, please contact us at the email below. PokéRip is a hobby project and most issues can be resolved with a friendly email.
