The short version
PokéRip is a browser-only Pokémon TCG pack opening simulator. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no cookies. Everything you do on the site stays on your device — we can't see your activity, your pulls, or anything else about you.
What we collect
Nothing on our end. PokéRip runs entirely in your browser. We don't operate a backend that stores user information, we don't use analytics services, and we don't transmit data about your activity to ourselves or to anyone else.
What your browser stores
PokéRip uses your browser's local storage (a built-in browser feature, not a cookie) to remember a small amount of information so the site is useful between visits:
- Your binder — the cards you've pulled, with timestamps and rarities, so the binder page can display them
- Your simulator preferences — sound mute, quick mode, auto-flip
- A short-term cache of card data so the site loads quickly on repeat visits
This information lives on your device only and is never sent to us. You can clear it at any time from the "Clear binder…" button on the binder page, your browser's site-settings panel, or your browser's developer tools.
What we don't do
To be explicit, PokéRip does not use:
- Analytics services or visitor tracking of any kind
- Tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or behavioral profiling
- Advertising networks, banner ads, or affiliate links
- A login or account system
- Email collection or marketing
- Cookies
- Third-party widgets that load tracking scripts
If any of this changes, we'll update this page before the change ships.
Service providers
PokéRip is delivered through standard third-party hosting and content-delivery networks. When your browser loads a page or image from PokéRip, those providers necessarily receive standard HTTPS request data: your IP address, user agent, the URL requested, and a timestamp. This is unavoidable for any internet-connected service. They do not receive any application-specific information from PokéRip, because we don't generate any to send.
If you'd like the names of the specific service providers we use for your records, contact us at the address below and we'll share the current list.
Card data origin
Card images and metadata were originally sourced from TCGdex, an open-source Pokémon TCG database. We mirror that data into our own infrastructure for performance and resilience; your browser does not communicate with TCGdex's servers while using PokéRip.
Your rights
Because we don't store data about you on our servers, there is nothing on our end to access, correct, or delete on request. To exercise standard data rights yourself:
- Access — open your browser's developer tools (Application or Storage tab) to view everything PokéRip has stored on your device.
- Erasure — clear your browser's storage for this site.
- Portability — the binder page exports your collection as JSON or CSV. Both are open formats you can import elsewhere.
If you have specific privacy questions or believe data has been collected outside what's described here, contact us at the email below.
Children's privacy
PokéRip is a free fan-made tool with no accounts, chat, payments, or data collection. There is nothing here that would knowingly collect data from anyone, regardless of age. The simulator is appropriate for all ages.
Security
Everything PokéRip serves is delivered over HTTPS. There is no server-side database of user information that could be breached, because we don't run a backend that stores user data. The trade-off is that if you lose your browser data, we can't restore it — use the binder page's JSON export if you want a backup.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how PokéRip handles data, we'll update this page first. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use after a policy update means you accept the updated policy.
